As everybody know, most of the actresses and singers have gone through a plastic surgery - whether they boosted up their lips or got their nose done - they all get unleashed in the media sooner or later...
What do u think :
- does the plastic surgery help them to get more popular and do u think its effective??
- what do u think about plastic surgery in general??
Im pretty curious to get to know your different opinions

- yes I think it does help make them more popular (especially when they are lacking from a vocal PoV)
- I think plastic surgery is alright if done for a good reason and in moderation

i dunno.. but if its her... omg her nose.. EWWW!
I think it's OK as long as it is what they want. The arabic female singers are generally very nice and if beauty does not give talents (who said Haïfa? lol), it is clearly something you can rely on.
Nancy is really talented (in my humble opinion) but she is nicer now than she was before. Without her look, she won't be as successful because videoclips are a powerful media. Pascale, by example, sings very but can we say that she will have the success of the above mentionned Haïfa.
Anyway, as a girl, I want to be at my advantage so I can understand that public people wants to be at the top.

I think it's like this: If a singer has an actually great voice (e.g. Asala) then the way she looks is only a component to her success, thus plastic surgery becomes a minor issue.
On the other hand, if there is no voice (e.g. Haifa) or if she is trying to "give private performances" (e.g. Marwa) then heavy plastic surgery mods becomes an absolute necessity!!
When it comes to normal people, some of us actually look good except for one major problem. For instance, bellydancer Dina has a gorgeos body, nice hair and a pretty face. However, she has a very nasty nose!! (lol). In those cases I don't see a problem if she goes to fix that one issue.
However, I am strongly against women who make plastic surgery a "hobby". People need to understand that these things are serious and not intended for "fun".

Even if it's plastic, it is still surgical act thus not without risk.

That's what I am saying. Some people do this so often that they develop an addiction to it. This is crazy both from a social and a financial standpoint.

islam forbid any1 change the way ALLAH(SWT) made them unlesss its medically required.but unfortunatly we have these filthy arabic female singers changing thier appearance & arses for fame&fortune.
Well all those singers are not muslims if I'm not wrong (and I'm not interested in their religion by the way, it is their personnal choice and something between God and every human being*) The good thing with modern world is that you can turn the tv off and listen to the singers on the radio.

*In my humble opinion since I do not want to start a debate on religion (and that is not allowed on the forum if I understood the rules).

hey guys,
im really surprised cuz i thought this issue was dead a long time ago bass seems u bought it back to life
well everybody knows that the outward appearance helps big time(looking for a job, social status etc..).
however, dont u think that people take plastic surgery for granted lately?
inno i have the impression that surgery happens on daily bases...
and as a matter of fact y'all know that sex sells, including the look of course.
p.s: i agree with u itsnotworkin !

itsnotworking/Mel: Although I respect your opinions, I do have a few points to make:
1. Islam does not prohibit improving one's self (as a matter of fact, it promotes it). What is not allowed is anything that can be considered permenant mutilation (e.g. tattoos, unnecessary amputations or piecings, etc.). Getting dental implantations or fixing a twist nose is not mutilation.
2. Both Christianity and Islam are against promiscuity and public-immorality. Pointing out that some of the said celebs are of one of the two religions serves no purpose (except making a negative statement about followers of said religion).
3. Guess what, Haifa Wahbi is MUSLIMA (yes I was shocked too when I found out, to tell you the truth - and she is only one example). Ruby is Muslima as well. Both of them are considered among the most notorious of today's celebs.
4. Although we can definately "turn off the tv" or "change the channel", this is only similar to an ostrich sticking its head in the sand. It blinds her from the danger, but doesn't treat its source. Kids can still go out and find that kind of content in their friends' places.
PS: someone somewhere else on the forum used the word "DIVA" to describe Haifa Wahbi. I must say, this must be the worst use of the word that I ever heard! HAIFA!!! A DIVA!!!!!!! How about Omm Kolthoom? Asala? Warda? Some people are just rediculous.

cs982005 BRO your point number 1 is exactly what i already said ISLAM does forbid changing how ALLAH (SWT) made us unless its medicaly required.
i like the words of alshaikh metwali alshaarawi when he said to president mubarak ( MR PRESIDENT I'M STANDING AT THE EDGE OF MY LIFE & I WILL NOT END IT IN HYPOCRISY : IF YOU WERE OUR DESTINY THEN MAY ALLAH BLESS YOU & IF WE WERE YOUR DESTINY THEN ALLAH HELP YOU ) these are great words & its for all muslim leaders who let islam down to the point we are what we are today.f(k it

i think that plastic surgery help the new singers to have success rapidly. But most of them are not talented at all. I don't consider haifa as a singer simply because she uses her beauty to fill her lack of talent. However, i see her as a top model.
Moreover, there is something i don't understand: almost all of these singers are enough nice to avoid plastic surgery!!
All of us have something that we want to change. So if we do all plastic surgery , we all become the same and we lose our "unicity".
Finally, we can never arrive to perfection. So, plastic surgery are for specfic situation because it's NOT a game.
Concerning Asala, i was horrified to see her last clip, she was so pretty before she changed.
Oh! i forget to say something: there are some singers who do plastic surgery to look younger but the problem that they lose their charm (their faces become without expression, without life): it's a damage!

ok I hid & deleted few all the non related BS & forgot to thank you for making me do more cleanup after you guys come on next time use some brain cells & don't just say line of crap otherwise I'm not going be that happy for the cleanup and will give warnings & bans instead
so WATCH WHAT YOU SAY PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE because we're no longer kids!
thank you
-------------------------------------------------------------
now back to the topic:
Plastic surgery
For nose jobs there are 2 types of surgeries
septoplasty: You basically broke your nose and want to put it back in the normal position however if you wait for too long you can't have it back as normal size as before so you actually need next surgery instead
rhinoplasty: is basically for the purposes of esthetics based not medical base however is sometime needed if septoblasty doesn't really give back the normal nose the person has because of waited time which actually made the nose larger!
so am i saying medical ok and non-medical is not ok? YES why? because there is no need to do extra steps in life to change things that's not needed especially bad rhinoplasy can mess up your respiration and might develop snoring problems!
But i feel if you already going to have a septoplasty then why not just upgrade it to rhinoplasty which both can have afterward complications
Ok I'm done with nose jobs
now with breast implants
1. Medically had a cancer and had to be removed and the only way to rebalance the size by using an implant! I do support that however for any dumb girl on the street wants to have implants so she can have more confidence that's just plain stupid
if you didn't know girls there are actually procedures to reduce breast size because large breasts = back problems!
Dental Work can actually be totally for esthetic purposes only
Like bleaching to sub A1 shades is ridiculous
Putting up veneers instead of having orthodontic treatment is just plain wrong!
Gold teeth for the just the no medical purpose of = disgusting
Others surgeries like lips and behinds are totally stupid
For my own taste I even hate makeup & was hardcore about it when I was in high school I stopped talking to so many girls the day they start putting up makeup which was maybe was overkill but don’t forget that was when I was teenager

that is not true. my cousin had a pastic surgery and now he looks like the cutest boy in the world. all the girls love him now, but many of them didn't know him before. there is no way for anyone to tell that you had plastic surgery, unless they know you before you had to surgery done.
